On the evening of August 22, at Long Bien Park (Hanoi), the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, in coordination with the People's Committee of Long Bien District, inaugurated an event to introduce OCOP (One Commune, One Product) products associated with the culture of the Central and Central Highlands provinces.

This event is a meaningful celebration of the 79th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2024) and National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2024), as well as the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Hanoi, and other major national and city holidays in 2024.

The event takes place from August 21 to 25, featuring over 100 booths showcasing OCOP products, craft village products, and safe agricultural food products. Additionally, there are exhibition areas and hands-on experiences with OCOP products and craft village items, with more than 1,000 products from 38 provinces across the country, including Hanoi, 19 provinces from the Central and Central Highlands regions, and 18 other provinces and cities nationwide.

Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Dinh Hoa  speechs at the event

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hoa, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, stated: "This event plays an important role in developing the rural economy and the New Rural Development Program in localities. It also strengthens the promotion of the campaign for Vietnamese people to prioritize using Vietnamese goods."

This is an opportunity for businesses, enterprises, and production households to enhance trade connections, promote their brands, advance trade, find customers, and access markets, particularly in bringing products onto e-commerce platforms, distribution systems, shopping centers, supermarkets, business stores, and points of introduction and sale of OCOP products.

Participating in the fair gives enterprises the opportunity to expand their market reach, from e-commerce platforms to distribution systems, shopping centers, supermarkets, business stores, and OCOP product introduction and sales points.

Moreover, this event allows enterprises and OCOP entities to exchange experiences in digital transformation and access advanced technologies and new technical advancements. This not only helps increase the added value of products but also contributes to the development of sustainable agricultural value chains.

In addition to creating opportunities for agricultural enterprises, the fair also promotes the development of ecotourism, especially in key agricultural production areas of Hanoi.

During the event, the organizers have planned tours to locations with a long-standing revolutionary cultural and historical tradition in Long Bien district, known for its many ecotourism destinations and distinctive craft villages. These tours will include visits to sites such as Phuc Xa communal house, Bo De Pagoda, Long Bien Bridge, and Le Mat craft village to promote the development of ecotourism in the city's key agricultural production areas.

Since 2019, under the "One Commune, One Product" (OCOP) program, the city has produced 2,756 products, including 6 five-star products, 12 potential five-star products, 1,491 four-star products, and 1,247 three-star products. In 2024, the city will continue to evaluate and rank nearly 500 products to support OCOP entities in enhancing the value and quality of their products, meeting the increasing demands of consumers in the capital and across the country, and moving towards export.
