Dong Thap Province recently unveiled its Provincial Planning for the 2021-2030 period, envisioning transformative development until 2050. The planning is poised to propel Dong Thap into a new era of socioeconomic miracles.

Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai, in a decisive working meeting with the province, underscored that this planning marks a watershed, unlocking fresh opportunities and expansive development spaces for Dong Thap. The blueprint is anticipated to serve as a catalyst for the province's remarkable breakthroughs in socioeconomic development.
Dong Thap's focus encompasses four key pillars: the advancement of high-tech processing industries and renewable energies, the development of strong transportation networks and infrastructure for industrial parks and border gate economic zones, the cultivation of sustainable organic agriculture and high-tech aquaculture linked to processing industries for enhanced product value, and the promotion of tourism rooted in historical traditions, cultural identity and distinctive natural conditions.
Deputy Prime Minister Khai outlined the goals set until 2030, to propel Dong Thap to be a well-developed province at the forefront of digital transformation, a hub for agricultural production and processing in the Mekong Delta. The province is slated to boast a modern infrastructure network, flourishing urban areas, captivating rural landscapes, and a welcoming tourism sector. A comprehensive approach to cultural, social, and human development is anticipated, with the province aiming to lead the nation in indicators such as the Public Administration Reform Index, Vietnam Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index, and Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI). Dong Thap is committed to ensuring national defense, security, and social order, fostering international cooperation and integration, and ultimately providing its residents with a life of prosperity, civility and happiness.
To ensure the realization of the objectives, Deputy Prime Minister Khai outlined six pivotal tasks and solutions, urging Dong Thap to take decisive action. He called upon Party committees and authorities at every level to champion the execution of Dong Thap Provincial Planning for the 2021-2030 period, aligned with resolutions of the Party, the National Assembly, and the Government, with special emphasis on Resolution 13-NQ/TW dated April 2, 2022, of the Politburo.
Dong Thap is tasked with fortifying collaboration with other Mekong Delta provinces and cities, swiftly crafting detailed plans tailored to local resources, and judiciously leveraging resources for comprehensive infrastructure development. Deputy Prime Minister Khai underscored the importance of elevating the business investment environment, advocating for breakthrough reforms in administrative procedures, procedural simplification, e-Government establishment, and the fostering of an open, transparent, and equitable investment climate. The focus extends to the cultivation of human resources and the attraction of talent, particularly in information technology, technology engineering, tourism, high-tech industry, and high-tech agriculture.
Expressing unwavering confidence, Deputy Prime Minister Khai affirmed his belief in Dong Thap's robust and groundbreaking development. He assured strong support from the Government and central agencies, emphasizing the province's ability to turn challenges into developmental catalysts, ultimately sculpting a more prosperous, beautiful, and civilized homeland - propelling Dong Thap to the forefront of the most developed provinces in the Mekong Delta.
In response, Mr. Pham Thien Nghia, Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee, hoped to receive continued guidance from the Government, support from central agencies, and collaboration from the people and business community. The provincial leadership pledged intensified efforts to refine administration, fostering a healthy, equitable, and transparent investment and business environment, inviting businesses and investors to contribute ideas and successfully implement investment projects.
