Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai attended the 29th Future of Asia Conference held from May 22-25 and conducted a working visit to Japan. Organized by the Nikkei Group, this conference serves as a pivotal platform drawing senior leaders, scholars, media and major corporations from across Asia.
Strong message from Vietnam
Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu highlighted that Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai delivered a significant address at the conference. He emphasized Vietnam's role as a reliable partner and an active, responsible member of ASEAN, the region and the international community. Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai reaffirmed the Vietnamese government's dedication to fostering a favorable investment and business environment and underscored Vietnam's readiness to contribute to regional peace, stability and development.

The ongoing contributions of Vietnam's senior leaders to the conference's success over the past 15 years have been highly esteemed by organizers, delegates and Japan.
Participating in such a significant forum enables Vietnam not only to stay abreast of emerging trends, changes and developmental directions, but also to broadly share Vietnam's development ideologies, governance strategies and contributions to addressing common regional and global issues.
Vietnam-Japan relations advancement
Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu underscored that Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai's visit to Japan occurred amid the robust development of Vietnam-Japan relations, especially following the celebration of their 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the elevation of their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. This visit not only reaffirms Vietnam's support for Japan's initiatives, but also marks a new phase in bilateral relations.
Vietnam-Japan relations have advanced significantly and comprehensively across various domains including economy, trade, investment, defense, security, culture, education, agriculture, health, labor and people-to-people exchanges. Moving forward, both countries should continue bolstering reliable political relations, leveraging mutual strengths, and promoting cooperation in potential areas such as digital transformation and green economy initiatives.
Looking ahead, there is substantial potential for bilateral cooperation fueled by mutual trust and complementary strengths. Japan plays a crucial role in assisting Vietnam in achieving its strategic breakthroughs, implementing goals and development plans outlined at the 13th National Party Congress. This includes promoting industrialization, modernization and building an independent, self-reliant economy that is deeply integrated into the global community.
Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu believed that the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and Japan is poised for a new phase of promising development, bringing substantial benefits to the people of both countries and contributing positively to peace, stability and prosperity in Asia and globally.
