Highlighting potential sectors such as renewable energy, high technology, and tourism, the visit underscores the commitment of both the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and Japanese enterprises to expanding their operations in Vietnam, while bolstering the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Japan.
On June 6, 2024, at the VCCI headquarters in Hanoi, VCCI Vice President Nguyen Quang Vinh presided over and exchanged views with a delegation from Fukuoka City, Japan, aimed at enhancing economic cooperation between the two nations.
Led by Mr. Eguchi Hiroyuki, Director of the Fukuoka Branch of Kyushu Electric Power Corporation, the Japanese delegation included representatives from the fields of electricity, transportation, banking, and energy. They engaged in profound discussions with VCCI leaders and Vietnamese businesses.
During the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh highlighted VCCI's role in advancing the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Japan. He reiterated VCCI's commitment to providing ongoing support and favorable conditions for Japanese businesses investing and operating in Vietnam.
Mr. Eguchi Hiroyuki introduced Fukuoka City's economic potential and expressed his interest in exploring investment cooperation opportunities in Vietnam. Japanese businesses in the delegation also shared their experiences and achievements across various sectors, from railways to energy and banking.
Both sides engaged in discussions on working together in areas like renewable energy, high tech, farming, and tourism. The meeting was positive, with Japanese businesses showing strong interest in growing their work in Vietnam.
In recent years, economic ties between Vietnam and Japan have significantly progressed, culminating in the upgrade to a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2023, which emphasizes broadened cooperation across multiple sectors. The presence of the Fukuoka City business delegation at VCCI serves as a clear testament to the efforts aimed at promoting and diversifying economic relations between the two countries.
