On February 15, 2022, Phase 1 of Wind Farm 7 - the first wind power project in Soc Trang province - was inaugurated and put into commercial operation. Overcoming many difficulties, the project was completed on schedule, a meaningful and practical work for the 30th anniversary of Soc Trang province reestablishment (4/1992 - 4/2022).

Wind Farm 7, invested by Soc Trang Energy Joint Stock Company, was built on nearly 90 ha in the littoral area and 3 ha in Vinh Hai commune (Vinh Chau town, Soc Trang province). Costing nearly VND5,700 billion, the project has a total designed capacity of 120MW. Consisting of seven turbines, the first phase of 30MW costs more than VND1,400 billion. The facility generates 105 GWh of electricity a year in the first phase and 312 GWh in the second phase.

Wind Farm 7 was kicked off on September 25, 2020. After more than one year of construction, the project was 100% on schedule, with the highest technical standards and fed into the national grid on October 24, 2021 as planned.

It took 274 days to complete seven wind turbines and 7.4km of conductive bridges, 110kV substations and operation buildings.
