After more than 10 years of construction and development, the capacity of telecom - information technology network capacity of VNPT Soc Trang has been invested to expand in scale, quality and service to better meet the rising customer demand and strongly affirm its leadership in the telecom - information technology industry in Soc Trang province.
Resilience after restructuring
2014 was the first year that VNPT Soc Trang and VNPT Group were officially operated in the new form after restructuring. Its revenue, profit and payroll have increased year after year since then. Its achievements reaffirm that VNPT Soc Trang is a key enterprise in infrastructure development and telecom - IT service delivery in Soc Trang province. At the same time, VNPT Soc Trang always actively provides public telecom services in the province. The company is currently the only provider of high-speed services to all communes across Soc Trang province, thus helping realize new countryside policies and contributing positively to local industrialization and modernization.
Recognizing these contributions, VNPT Soc Trang was awarded many excellent emulation flags and certificates of merit from the Prime Minister, the Soc Trang Provincial People’s Committee, the VNTP Group, the Ministry of Information and Communications, and the State Capital Management Committee. Especially in 2011-2015, VNPT Soc Trang was decorated with the Second-class Labor Order.
Strength from modern telecom - IT infrastructure system
Soc Trang VNPT has always focused on improving competitiveness by delivering high-quality products and services, taken customers as the center of business, and taken care of customers in a professional, distinctive and effective manner. Soc Trang VNPT has also given priority to investment in building complete infrastructure to effectively meet increasing local demand for telecommunications and information technology, better serve administrative procedure reforms and launch e-government model in the province.
With that spirit, right from the beginning of 2016, VNPT Soc Trang prepared BTS station infrastructure, invested to upgrade and expand the transmission network and wide fiber optic network for the adoption of 4G equipment. This effort helped turn Soc Trang into one of five southern provinces assigned to install 4G equipment in the first phase by VNPT Group.
On February 11, 2017, Vinaphone 4G service was officially launched in Soc Trang province. At present, VNPT Soc Trang is further expanding its coverage (with more than 250 4G BTS stations out of 600 3G/4G BTS stations). To have a modern telecommunication - IT infrastructure system, in the coming time, VNPT Soc Trang will continue to invest in upgrading, improving capacity and improving the operational safety of transmission network axis and MANE network in the province, expanding the fiber optic network and installing more 4G equipment in all existing BTS stations to build a foundation for deploying IT applications in the province.
Siding with e-government construction
After five years (2014-2019) of carrying out the strategic cooperation agreement on information and communication technology in 2014-2020 signed between the Soc Trang Provincial People’s Committee and VNPT Group, the latter has made continuous efforts to side with the province in the course of building a civilized and modern electronic government.
VNPT Soc Trang Director Nguyen Khac Phung said that VNPT Soc Trang always defines IT as a top management tool in building e-government, promoting administrative reform, restructuring the economy and actively advancing international economic integration in the current period. From 2016 to now, based on the cooperation agreement between Soc Trang province and VNPT Group, VNPT Soc Trang has coordinated and accompanied relevant local agencies to reform administrative procedures and the single-window electronic system in providing IT services and solutions as per the roadmap of e-government construction in Soc Trang province. Such services as electronic office (VNPT iOffice), electronic information portal (VNPT Portal), online video conferencing (VNPT-Meeting), health management software (VNPT - HIS) and online residence management software (ORM) provided by VNPT Soc Trang are now working smoothly at governmental agencies, including Soc Trang Provincial People’s Committee, District-level People’s Committee, Commune-level People’s Committee, and relevant units.
To date, without doubt, initial successes of digital services and IT services have contributed positively to carry out administrative reforms, build the electronic government system in Soc Trang province and deliver the VNPT 4.0 Strategy of VNPT Group.
