Could you please introduce local potential advantages for tourism development?

The southeast province of Binh Phuoc lies in a key, dynamic and developed economic region in the South, has a strategic geographical position with convenient traffic routes, serves as a gateway to connect and exchange Southeast economy, culture and society with those in the Central Highlands, Cambodia, Laos and Thailand.

Its geographical location, natural features, climate, soil and historical and cultural traditions offer relatively diverse and abundant tourism resources. In addition, Binh Phuoc is currently a major hub of cashew and rubber planting, which is very suitable for building experiential tourism products. Besides, the province has primeval forests and outstanding landscapes like Bu Lach Grassland, Bu Gia Map National Park, Ba Ra Mountain - Mo Waterfall and Suoi Giai Lake.

Particularly, Binh Phuoc has many revolutionary historical sites, with 45 classified as special national relic sites. The province has the circular citadel – an archaeological site where ancient Vietnamese people resided. The province is also home to 41 ethnic groups with their own distinctive cultures that form experimental tourism products as well as historical and cultural tourism.

To bring potential strengths of the province's tourism into full play, what solutions has the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism adopted?

The department advised the Provincial People's Committee on the plan to implement the Tourism Development Project in 2021-2025, with an eye to 2030, which aimed to develop tourism into a professional, distinctive and competitive service economy in the Southeast and the Central Highlands and connect with other industries and fields to grow together and contribute to socioeconomic development.

The department focused on developing new tourism products by tapping strong tourism resources such as ecological tourism, cultural tourism, historical tourism, spiritual tourism, community tourism, adventure tourism and natural discovery. It instructed localities to review, build and develop new tourist sites, spots and attractions together with consolidating and completing recognized tourist attractions. It also improved service quality and diversified products; prioritized specific, distinctive tourism products; and created new resilience and new momentum for tourism development.

The department also sped up tourism communications, advertising and promotion; linked with potential domestic and international markets; accelerated digital transformation and digitized information and documents about destinations; directed accommodation and travel companies, tourist sites and attractions to embellish their facilities and improve service quality.

It also increased attractive tours and routes, combined with forest experiences in such destinations as Phu Rieng Do relic site, Ba Ra mountainous cultural complex and Bu Gia Map National Park. The department also built tours to experience the unique cultures of S'tieng and M'nong peoples, with such destinations as Vinh Phuc tourist area, Soc Bom Bo S'tieng ethnic culture reserve and Bu Lach grassland. It developed historical discovery tours to war-time battlefields like Tau O Victory Monument, Van Thanh Buddhist Temple, Southern Liberation Army Command, Loc Ninh Guest House and Flashpoint 16. It also introduced the “one day, four countries” international tour, with Southern Liberation Army Command being the center and the stopover in the Trans-Asia itinerary that links Ho Chi Minh City - Binh Phuoc (Vietnam) - Stung Treng (Cambodia) - Champasak (Laos) - Ubon (Thailand).

To increase investment funds for tourism, what are the preferential mechanisms and policies of Binh Phuoc province?

The province issued Resolution 01/2022/NQ-HDND dated March 31, 2022 on regulations on investment promotion, incentive and support policies in Binh Phuoc province. Four development projects (Soc Bom Bo village, Bu Lach grassland, Ba Ra mountainous area and Ta Thiet Command Base) are added to the investment promotion, incentive and support policies applied to special projects.

Currently, Binh Phuoc is arranging the land fund for tourism investment projects, building golf courses, attracting investment funds for building high-class hotels in order to boost tourism development. At the same time, the province is focusing on improving the investment environment, effectively mobilizing and using capital sources for development investment, with emphasis placed on site clearance and project implementation.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is always ready to welcome and provide support information for businesses and investors when they come to seek investment opportunities and offer best support to them when they carry out their projects in the province.

Thank you very much!
