Promoting the Value of Ba Den Mountain National Tourist Area

The Management Board of Ba Den Mountain national tourist area was established under Decision 1351/QD-TTg dated July 11, 2016 of the Prime Minister, assigned to directly manage the historical relic and landscape of Ba Den Mountain; to coordinate the implementation of the master plan on construction of Ba Den Mountain national tourist area. In recent time, the Management Board has made great efforts in implementing assigned tasks.

Ensuring practical requirements

Ba Den Mountain historical relic and scenic area was recognized as a national-level relic in Decision 100-VH/QD dated January 21, 1989 of the Minister of Culture and has been zoned for protection according to its value of history and landscape; under a master plan on tourism development of Vietnam to 2020 with a vision to 2030 by the Prime Minister.

Right from its establishment and operation, the Board has led the efforts and coordinated with relevant departments and sectors to formulate a general planning task for construction of Ba Den Mountain national tourist area, in Tay Ninh Province until 2035, approved by by the Prime Minister in Decision 125/QD-TTg dated January 25, 2018. At the same time, it has participated in coordinating with relevant departments, agencies and units to complete the Master plan on construction of Ba Den Mountain national tourist area, in Tay Ninh province until 2035, approved by the Prime Minister in Decision 1099/QD-TTg dated September 5th, 2018.

In 2020-2021, Nui Ba Den tourist area has been built and the cable car system put into operation according to European standards by investors (including Van Son cable line that takes tourists from the foot of the mountain to the top of Ba Den and Hang Pagoda cable line takes visitors from the foot of the mountain to Ba Den Pagoda and Hang Pagoda); Lady Buddha statue on top of Ba Den Mountain. Along with that, it has inaugurated and put into service the work of expanding Ba Pagoda, contributing to improving service quality and attracting visitors.

Under the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, the Board has focused on implementing the direction of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disease Control and Prevention. Specifically, it has sent documents to the tourism operating units, requiring them to regularly propagate for tourists to take measures to prevent epidemics according to the guidance of the health sector. It has required 100% of staff, visitors to wear masks, arranging hand sanitizer and cleaning contact surfaces regularly; there is a plan to prevent crowds of visitors to ensure the distance as prescribed. On the other hand, it is ready to handle detecting signs of infection and providing daily tourist data to the Board to synthesize and report to the Steering Committee according to regulations.

For Nui Ba Den Pagoda, Ngoc Truyen monastery, it is required to strictly comply with epidemic prevention measures under the guidance of the Provincial People's Committee and recommendations of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs. Through online religious activities, it has instructed and propagated for monks and nuns, Buddhists to voluntarily implement measures to prevent and fight against the COVID-19 epidemic.

Promoting tourism development

In the period of 2021 - 2025, the Board will focus on performing tasks such as: Investing and developing Ba Den Mountain tourist area according to the general construction planning approved by the Prime Minister; Fully meeting the conditions to recognize Ba Den Mountain Tourist Area as a National Tourist Area, becoming a tourist area of the Southeast region and the country.

At the same time, it will strengthen the management, protection, development of forests, protection of the ecological environment on the basis of implementing the Sustainable Forest Management Plan for the period 2021 - 2030. It will focus on various tasks including: protection, well developing the existing forests and forest lands; biodiversity conservation in the project area; restoring natural resources and landscapes, promptly preventing acts of encroaching on forests, the environment, and landscapes.

In recent years, Tay Ninh province has promoted the attraction and development of the tourism service industry. With the potential and strength of the Ba Den Mountain historic and scenic area, in the coming time, the province will carry out the prescribed procedures to invite investors to implement tourism development projects.

In order to effectively implement this goal, the Board has proposed to the Provincial People's Committee a number of key solutions to be implemented in the coming time. This includes investing in developing technical infrastructure systems outside the tourist area; investing in conservation and embellishment of cultural and historical relics; investing in infrastructure development, creating a green - clean - beautiful environment; and completing low-voltage power supply network to functional areas in the tourist area.
