The development of a strong transportation network serves as a catalyst for Ninh Thuan’s breakthroughs. Recognizing this early on, Transport Construction Project Management Unit of Ninh Thuan Province (PMU Ninh Thuan) has consistently prioritized accelerating the pace of construction and ensuring the timely completion of projects since its establishment.

Speeding up key transport projects
When Ninh Thuan province was re-established, its infrastructure, including transport infrastructure, was seriously weak and insufficient. After many years, with many different funding sources, PMU Ninh Thuan has managed, invested, constructed and operated many transport projects of utmost importance. Particularly in the 2020 - 2025 period, it was assigned by the Provincial People's Committee to invest in four transport projects to complete the transport network in the province, create smooth traffic connectivity and link to key economic regions. Notable projects include a road connecting Tan Son town, Ninh Son district, Ninh Thuan province to Ta Nang intersection, Duc Trong district, Lam Dong province that has a total length of 63.32 km (46.22 km in Ninh Thuan and 17.1 km in Lam Dong and cost VND1,494.75 billion); a 14.8-km road linking North - South Highway with National Highway 1 and Ca Na Seaport which costs VND903 billion; 13.077-km Van Lam - Son Hai Road (VND372,515 billion of investment capital) and a 10.42-km component road from Khanh Nhon Pass to National Highway 1 belonging to northern ring road of Ninh Thuan province (VND487.640 billion).
Mr. Pham Minh Tan, Director of PMU Ninh Thuan, emphasized that alongside the support and guidance from all government levels, the fundamental determinant of success lies in the personnel. Since its inception, PMU Ninh Thuan has swiftly evaluated and assigned tasks in alignment with each employee’s professional capabilities. Furthermore, the organization encourages its employees to regularly participate in political theory classes, fostering a continuous pipeline of core personnel.
In addition, PMU Ninh Thuan invites experienced and competent contractors to participate in bidding processes. This significantly enhances the effective utilization of state funds and prevents loss and waste. Mr. Tan highlighted this as a central factor that has propelled the unit to its current position. He noted, “In an era of increasing challenges and fierce competition, only contractors with practical experience and financial capability can ensure safety, quality, economy, and durability, thereby sustaining their presence over time.”

Gradually unlocking
To remove difficulties for businesses and boost economic development, the Vietnamese Government and the Ninh Thuan Provincial People's Committee have drastically directed the disbursement of public investment fund. Therefore, right from the beginning of 2024, PMU Ninh Thuan proposed effective solutions: Specifically assigning each leader to directing project implementation; building a truly united team, having a sense of determination to complete assigned tasks well, requiring contractors to prepare detailed progress sheets for each bidding package to monitor, manage and organize regular meetings to assess progress and put forth solutions to increase machinery, equipment and personnel to speed up the construction progress to meet requirements of public investment fund disbursement arranged for 2024.
“Problems with site clearance and project rescaling are causing projects to be behind schedule. In particular, site clearance is an important "engine" to speed up project implementation, especially traffic projects. As an investor, PMU Ninh Thuan always actively coordinates with local authorities and relevant bodies to tackle emerging difficulties and obstacles, especially completing procedures of conversing forests and forest land and collecting forest products after the Prime Minister's conversion policy is enacted. The unit also works to establish local advocacy groups joined by local unions to regularly inform and advocate households to understand legal policies on land compensation, site clearance and shared interests of invested projects," he added.
In today's competitive environment, Ninh Thuan province is undergoing a strong transformation. Given its existing potential strengths, a synchronously invested transport system will be a solid foundation and leverage for the province to successfully carry out its socioeconomic development goals in the years to come, helping make Ninh Thuan one of dynamically developing economies in the country. Specially, as 2024 is an important year, all levels and branches of the province are trying their best to achieve all goals and tasks set by the 14th Provincial Party Congress (the 2020 - 2025 term). Based on its existing advantages and its goals, in the coming time, PMU Ninh Thuan will actively urge contractors to arrange machinery and equipment for project execution to hand over and operate all projects on schedule, particularly the road that links Tan Son town, Ninh Son district, Ninh Thuan province with Ta Nang intersection, Duc Trong district, Lam Dong province to form an inter-regional traffic route (across three provinces: Lam Dong, Ninh Thuan and Khanh Hoa). It will strive to disburse 100% of the budget planned to be allocated in 2024 as assigned by the Provincial People's Committee. Obviously, PMU Ninh Thuan expects to get more motivations to realize the set goals soon and gradually perfect the transportation network in the region to meet traveling and freight transportation needs of the province and boost local socioeconomic development.
