Ninh Thuan Business Association is steadfast in its commitment to bolstering its activities, serving as an important conduit between the government and businesses, aiming at nurturing the strong growth of the business community. To learn more about this, our reporter conducted an interview with Mr. Nguyen Tien Nghi, Chairman of the Ninh Thuan Business Association.
How have you enhanced member businesses’ competitiveness?
The performance of businesses based in Ninh Thuan province has seen a significant recovery and growth within the current year. In 2023 and the early part of 2024, we have coordinated and provided advice on over 30 draft regulations across various sectors, and submitted 24 proposals to agencies at all levels to address existing business challenges. Furthermore, we have participated in 44 conferences and workshops organized by the Provincial People’s Committee and provincial agencies, serving as a conduit for conveying information and recommendations from our members to the relevant authorities in a timely and urgent manner. Our operations are guided by the motto “Solidarity - Innovation - Integration - Development”, aligning with the policies and directions of the Provincial People’s Committee.
In addition, we have facilitated meetings and business talk shows to establish connections between the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), commercial banks and our members. Concurrently, we have collaborated with the Department of Planning and Investment to organize training programs on “Leadership and Sales Marketing Administration for CEOs”, aimed at enhancing the knowledge and business capacity of our members. We have also initiated numerous trade connection programs between Ninh Thuan businesses and other localities, such as Thu Duc city - Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong province.
What strategies have you implemented to attract members and promote social responsibility?
The Ninh Thuan Business Association now has more than 100 members active in many fields and industries. Members link, share and capture information with each other through the Zalo Group channel and its website.
To attract its business members to join our work, we, together with the Provincial People's Committee and departments, organized trade connection programs with other provinces, exchanged business products and OCOP products. At the same time, we recommended authorities to promptly eradicate difficulties faced by businesses.
The Ninh Thuan Trade and Tourism Investment Promotion Center was also established. We will join tourism associations, aquatic breed associations and the Ninh Thuan Young Entrepreneurs Association to form a cooperation agreement to enhance business roles in socioeconomic development. This move is expected to attract the participation of business sectors in the coming time
In addition, we have launched meaningful social security programs like building houses for the poor (in Ninh Phuoc, Bac Ai, Ninh Son and Thuan Bac districts). We have also strengthened connections, carried out and financially supported programs run by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ninh Thuan province, the Ninh Thuan Youth Union and the Ninh Thuan Red Cross.
Do you have any recommendations for local policy formulation to enhance the operational efficiency of the Ninh Thuan Business Association in the future?
At present, the Provincial People’s Committee, along with other sectors, is intensifying investment promotion nationwide to augment its competitiveness and attract potential investors for the economic development of the province. For a strong and sustainable business growth, we expect that the authorities will implement pragmatic mechanisms and policies. This would enable businesses to access and incorporate advanced technology into their production and business operations.
Thank you very much!
