With the solidarity and efforts of all the staff to overcome every difficulty in the way, Khanh Hoa Water Supply and Sewerage Joint Stock Company (KHAWASSCO) has effectively carried out water supply plans and always strictly controlled water quality.
Ongoing development
Mr. Nguyen Hong Son, Deputy General Director of KHAWASSCO, said, “2020 was a year of successive difficulties. But, with the inherent capacity of the company and the determination of all the staff, KHAWASSCO made great contributions to local economic and social development.”
In 2020, the company’s revenue totaled VND330 billion, reaching 90.38% of the plan and its tax payment amounted to VND20.8 billion. Tap water sales approximated 45 million cubic meters, fulfilling 93% of the plan. The company installed 27,740 water meters to replace expired ones for customers, and invested VND55 billion to build, upgrade and replace water supply pipelines. The firm also expanded the scope of water supply to suburban areas like Phuoc Dong and Vinh Luong communes, Tri Nguyen Island, Vinh Phuong commune of Nha Trang City, Suoi Tan and Suoi Cat communes in Cam Lam district, and To Hap town in Khanh Son district. The company installed new water pipes for 6,516 customers according to Decree 117/2007/ND-CP; and invested VND2 billion in equipment, plant and pumping station upgrade and repairing.
On environmental protection, KHAWASSCO maintained, repaired and dredged the water system, replaced manholes to prevent odors, created a clean and beautiful landscape and ensured environmental sanitation. The company proposed solutions to improve wastewater treatment to protect the urban environment and living environment. Average employee income was raised to over VND15 million a month.
To achieve the above results, KHAWASSCO continuously invested to build, renovate and expand the water supply network; invested in restoring and repairing equipment, plant and pumping stations; intensified the work against water loss; and applied information technology in management and operation. Many hypothetical situations are put forth by the company in order to promptly respond to the worst situations in order to ensure stable, continuous and sufficient water supply and ensure water quality according to regulations. The company also promoted technical improvement initiatives to further rationalize production and installed booster pumps in pipelines, powered by solar electricity to reduce operating costs. Two projects of the company were recognized as outstanding works by the Vietnam Water Supply and Sewerage Association. At the same time, the company focused on providing good customer service, establishing and implementing a single-window mechanism to serve customers quickly and efficiently.
Siding with Khanh Hoa development
Despite facing numerous difficulties and challenges, KHAWASSCO always maintains the lofty tradition of sharing with the community and doing meaningful social work. The company has donated a lot of money and delivered relief to the COVID-19 Prevention and Control Fund, the Disaster Prevention Fund, the Trade Union Shelter Fund, the Children's Protection Fund, the Hunger Eradication and Poverty Reduction Fund, and poor children in mountainous Khanh Son and Khanh Vinh regions. The firm waived or reduced domestic water fees of VND2 billion for poor, near-poor households and lockdown areas.
2021 is forecast to be another difficult year, but KHAWASSCO will strive to achieve its goal: Producing 54,062 million cubic meters of water, selling 45,953 cubic meters and earning total revenue of VND423.653 billion. The company is carrying out key projects like renovating and expanding the maximum capacity for Vo Canh Water Plant (VND48.709 billion), replacing water pipelines from Cau Dua to Ma Vong, (VND66.166 billion), investing in water supply network in Nha Trang and surrounding areas (VND11.768 billion), restoring water supply works (VND27.684 billion) and expanding customer base (VND20 billion).
