Knowing that transportation actively helps the country's growth, Tay Ninh province is resolved to increase the investment fund for regional and inter-regional transport systems to create a foundation to accelerate local socioeconomic development in recent years.
Creating breakthroughs in socioeconomic development
Mr. Nguyen Tan Tai, Director of the Tay Ninh Department of Transport, said that 2022 was the second year of executing the resolution of the 11th Provincial Party Congress (2020 - 2025 term). With the leadership and direction of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee, the support of central agencies and the active participation of people and businesses, the Tay Ninh transport sector completed its tasks in 2022.
Specifically, the sector closely followed and thoroughly grasped programs as well as focused on directing, operating and executing its assigned tasks; developed population data, citizen identification and electronic authentication for digital transformation and administrative reform; and consulted on local transport infrastructure development. The sector also actively worked with the Departments of Transport (Ho Chi Minh City, Long An and Binh Duong provinces) to develop transport connections between Tay Ninh and other localities; cooperated with the University of Transport (Ho Chi Minh City Branch) and VNPT Tay Ninh on information technology application, industry data development and human resource training. In 2022, it commented and appraised 49 projects.
Besides, the transport sector made many breakthroughs, especially in transport infrastructure - identified as one of three strategic breakthrough stages needed to be given prioritized investment for synchronous and modern cooperation to create a premise for socioeconomic development associated with national defense and security, climate adaptation and sustainable development in the province. In addition to road traffic infrastructure management and maintenance, transport management, support service, traffic order and safety are always effectively implemented. “Particularly regarding administrative reform, digital transformation and e-government construction, the sector worked out action plans and programs for digital transformation and ensured network information security in accordance with digital transformation projects and programs launched by central agencies. Currently, the sector is also researching and building software: Digital maps for the road network managed by the Department of Transport; BIM application (project information from design, construction to operation management); road traffic infrastructure management and maintenance software; and document and data digitization to build and enrich data of the transport sector integrated into the shared data warehouse of the province,” he said.
Aiming for bigger goals
Despite numerous difficulties ahead, the sector always sees them as challenges that need to be addressed to reach bigger goals in the coming time. In 2023, the province will focus on developing transport infrastructure from centrally funded traffic projects (Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai Expressway, Go Dau - Xa Mat Expressway with the first phase from Go Dau to Tay Ninh City, Ho Chi Minh Road with the Chon Thanh - Duc Hoa section, and border patrol roads or locally funded transportation projects.
The sector is also accelerating the implementation of ongoing projects scheduled to be completed and put into operation in 2023, such as Thanh Phuoc Inland Port, Moc Bai Inland Port - Phase 1 (5ha), logistics center, ICD inland port and general port in Hung Thuan commune, Trang Bang town and call for investment fund for transport infrastructure development according to approved plans and schemes.
“In the coming years, socioeconomic development, national defense and security gives new requirements and tasks for the transport sector. This requires the sector to further promote its achieved results and uphold its responsibility in exploiting resources and carrying out central, key and influential projects that provide smooth connectivity with economic centers and provinces in the region,” he added.
