In 2024, the industry and trade sector of Bac Giang province strives to achieve the industrial production value of VND665.76 trillion, up 23% year on year; the total retail revenue of goods and sales of VND64 trillion, up 13.3%; the export value of US$33 billion, up 20.4%; and the import value of US$27 billion, up 8.1%. Therefore, right from the beginning of the year, the sector focused on implementing key solutions to complete these goals.
Accordingly, the sector has closely followed directions of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee; regularly grasped world and domestic developments to promptly advise the Provincial People's Committee on directions to remove difficulties and obstacles for manufacturers and exporters; focused on advising, reviewing and developing legal documents, projects and plans within its jurisdiction; and direct electricity firms to prioritize power supply for industrial zones and manufacturers.
At the same time, the sector has coordinated with relevant agencies to invest in building power projects such as 220kV transmission lines, 220kV transformer stations, 110kV transmission lines, and 110kV transformer stations to serve industrial zones; urged infrastructure developers in industrial zones to speed up land compensation and site clearance to quickly hand over land to investors to build technical infrastructure to entice secondary investors.
Regarding commerce and service, the sector has made effective, consistent forecasts, kept close track of market, supply and demand situations; promptly proposed the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Provincial People's Committee to adopt necessary solutions. It has encouraged and facilitated businesses to boost the development of professional distribution channels; establish wholesaling and retailing systems across the province to serve enterprises and people.
The sector has actively coordinated with provincial and local agencies and authorities to attract investment projects in commerce, services, supermarkets, trade centers, logistics and wholesale markets to both domestic and import-export markets; gradually reformed and upgraded modern commercial infrastructure to meet growing demands of people and businesses; strengthened inspection, control, anti-smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeiting and knockoffs; promptly detected and handled violators to ensure a healthy business market and protect consumer rights.
In addition, the sector has actively implemented solutions to improve the business environment and enhance competitiveness; actively raised advisory quality of policymaking and planning for trade and industrial development in the province; and boosted the dynamism and determination of leaders of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the awareness and responsibility of all public employees in upgrading the investment and business environment and enhancing investment attraction.
The industry and trade sector has maintained and reformed quarterly meetings and dialogues with businesses to grasp their opinions and promptly remove their difficulties and obstacles; and effectively participated in the assistant panel for the Steering Committee for Investment Support and Business Development in removing difficulties and obstacles for investors and businesses.
In addition, the sector has stepped up administrative reform, regularly reviewed and publicly announced administrative procedures (attached with forms, processes, fees and charges) on the website and administrative offices of the department for organizations and individuals to easily access and implement administrative procedures; publicize phone numbers of responsible persons for people and businesses to know, contact and monitor implementation of administrative procedures.
