Following the National Target Program on New Rural Development, Lang Son province has made substantial strides in recent years toward its objectives of poverty reduction and increased income for its residents.

In its annual socioeconomic development directives, Lang Son consistently prioritizes poverty reduction as a crucial task intricately linked with the National Target Program on New Rural Development. The province has systematically implemented poverty reduction policies and projects, encompassing production support, vocational training for job creation, educational and training assistance, and direct support for impoverished households in disadvantaged areas, adhering to central regulations. This comprehensive approach has resulted in a gradual increase in income for the impoverished populace and improved access to enhanced social services.
To foster production development and diversify livelihoods, Chi Lang district has rigorously reviewed and adjusted production development plans, agricultural restructuring and initiatives related to new rural development. The district has introduced four impactful models to support effective production development: an Organic Anise Planting and Tending Project slated for 2023 in five communes, with an anticipated organic certification on 35 hectares by 2023; a VietGAP-standard Sugar Apple input supply, input service, production, and harvesting cooperation project covering 67 hectares in two communes; a VietGAP-standard Chili Pepper Planting Project spanning four communes over 45 hectares in 2023; and a Peach Planting Project in two communes covering 13.13 hectares. In tandem with economic development, Chi Lang residents actively participate in environmental protection, rural residence construction, and model gardening. Notably, the "Red Sunday" initiative for new countryside construction and civilized urban area development is consistently and effectively implemented.
As of now, communes and towns have mobilized more than 12,270 individuals for the construction of roads and bridges. This collective effort includes clearing and cleaning village roads and alleys, planting green fences, dredging canals and sewers, installing 21 tanks for pesticide packaging collection, establishing 15 landfills for household solid waste, supporting individuals in installing and activating electronic identification accounts, promoting adherence to environmental criteria, and conducting initial land declaration and registration. These activities significantly contribute to the successful realization of new rural development goals and tasks in 2023 and beyond.
Recognizing poverty as a pivotal criterion in new rural development directly impacting people's lives and activities, Lang Son has undertaken a strategic integration of the National Target Program on New Rural Development and the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction for the period 2021-2025. The province has executed comprehensive poverty reduction policies and leveraged additional resources to enhance the material and spiritual well-being of its residents. Notably, Lang Son has prioritized investments in essential infrastructure to facilitate socioeconomic development and boost people's incomes.
Moreover, the province has intensified efforts in the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program, incorporating cutting-edge technological advances in animal husbandry and crop cultivation. Agricultural restructuring, leveraging local land and climate advantages to meet market demands, has been a key focus. Lang Son has effectively launched programs supporting production development, collective economic growth, production and consumption, and employment for rural workers.
