Dak Nong PMU is aggressively speeding up Gia Nghia Central Square

Strengthening the apparatus

Dak Nong Construction Investment Project Management Board (PMU) was established under Decision 896/QD-UBND dated May 25, 2022 of Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee from the merger of the Agricultural and Rural Construction Investment Project Management Unit and the Traffic, Civil and Industrial Project Management Unit.

Director Nguyen Van Nghia said that, after the merger, Dak Nong PMU consolidated the management apparatus by completing its functions and tasks; building a well-arranged contingent of qualified, capable employees to carry out its assigned tasks effectively.

Currently, Dak Nong PMU's organizational structure comprises the Board of Directors and six specialized departments with 83 employees. In expertise, Dak Nong PMU was granted certificates of project consultancy and management, and construction supervision consultancy on civil, industrial, traffic, agricultural and rural development projects by the Dak Nong Department of Construction.

“Up to now, after one year of consolidation, its organizational structure is well arranged with good organizational and operational capacity. Dak Nong PMU, as a unit, is gradually becoming a professional, modern, and well performing unit," he added.

Accelerating the completion of key projects

Director Nghia said, in the past time, Dak Nong PMU has always received the close attention and timely direction of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People’s Council, the Provincial People's Committee and partner units to successfully complete its assigned tasks. It was assigned by the Provincial People's Committee to invest in 34 projects, including four being prepared for investment, 19 under construction and 11 completed. Its projects are carried out as scheduled, and the progress of the disbursement meets the province's requirements.

“Currently, Dak Nong PMU is focusing all resources on speeding up Gia Nghia Central Square. This key project, directed by the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People’s Council and the Provincial People's Committee, will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the province. The unit has strictly directed construction contractors to speed up to complete it in time," he noted.

“For new projects started in 2022 like upgraded Provincial Road 2, upgraded Provincial Road 3, upgraded Provincial Road 5, Dao Nghia-Quang Khe Road and Dak Nong General Hospital, the unit is pressing on construction progress to complete them as scheduled. In addition, Dak Nong PMU is closely directing the implementation of investment procedures and preparing design documents to start construction of three new irrigation projects in 2023: Lake 38; water efficiency upgrade project for drought-prone localities (ADB8 Project), expected to start construction in the second quarter of 2023; and Dak Gang Lake, expected to be kicked off in the fourth quarter of 2023,” he said.
