After a long decline due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the Dak Lak tourism sector has gradually shown signs of recovery and achieved positive results.
In 2022, the province welcomed nearly 1 million visitors and made tourist revenue of more than VND800 billion, higher than the plan. In the year to the Lunar New Year holiday of 2023, Dak Lak province welcomed 130,000 visitors, mainly domestic tourists, and raked in total tourist revenue of VND14 billion, a 50% increase over the same period of last year. The average room occupancy was over 55%.
In order to best serve tourists, localities in the province have upgraded and repaired tourist sites and existing tourism products. Food and beverage businesses and accommodation facilities all announce their price lists and sell them at quoted prices. Especially, during the Lunar New Year, favorable weather conditions, cultural activities and festivals in localities have helped attract tourists to Dak Lak province.
Nguyen Thuy Phuong Hieu, Deputy Director of Dak Lak Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said, after a long slowdown due to the COVID-19 epidemic, Dak Lak tourism industry has gradually shown signs of recovery and achieved positive results. In 2022, the province welcomed nearly 1 million visitors and made tourist revenue of more than VND800 billion, higher than the plan.
In 2023, Dak Lak is expected to welcome 1.5 million domestic and international visitors, boosted by attention-grabbing activities such as the 8th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2023 and high-performance sports competitions hosted by Dak Lak province.
