Going public in 2005, Construction Joint Stock Company 47 (C47), formerly a State-owned enterprise, has increasingly enhanced its business performance and maintained its position among the leading hydropower and irrigation construction firms in the country.

Putting a premium on quality management, continuous application of advanced construction technologies and investment in modern construction equipment, C47 has capably competed with many giant State-owned peers in national key hydroelectric and irrigation projects.
Sustained prestige and capacity as a construction contractor
On September 8, 1975, the Ministry of Water Resources established the Mechanized Construction Team of Zone V to build irrigation facilities for agriculture and livelihoods of people in Central Coast - Central Highlands provinces. The Team was expanded in scale, added new technical equipment, and provided with resources to be upgraded to Construction Company 47 on February 3, 1996. In 2005, The company transformed its operating mechanism from a state-owned enterprise to a joint stock company. On March 30, 2011, the company officially floated its shares on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange with the ticker symbol C47.
Through 48 years of construction and development, C47 has gradually mastered construction technologies of irrigation, hydropower, civil construction and industrial construction projects across the country. The company was the first to apply new technologies such as roller compacted concrete (RCC) and tunneling technology using TBM Tunneling Robot (more than 15km implemented) with many big projects, which were highly valued by investors and agencies. In the last 15 years, the company has completed more than 30 irrigation and hydropower projects worth more than VND20,000 billion across the country. Typical capabilities of C47 include excavation of 8 million tons of soil and rock a year; production of 1.5 million cubic meters of concrete a year; and supply of 1.3 million cubic meters of sand and gravel a year. With its achievements, Construction Joint Stock Company 47 was awarded the First-class Labor Order by the Party and the State in 1997, the Labor Hero in the Renovation Period title in 2000, and the Second-class Independence Order by the Party and the State in 2011.
To date, C47 has constructed many large projects in Vietnam and other countries. Typical ongoing projects include expanded Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant (Hoa Binh province), infrastructure construction for Hoa Phat Dung Quat 2 Iron and Steel Production Complex (Quang Ngai province), Tan An - Dap Da irrigation system (Binh Dinh province), Phu Phong weir project (Binh Dinh province), infrastructure construction for Becamex Binh Dinh Industrial Park (Binh Dinh province), and Nam Phak Hydropower Plant (Lao People's Democratic Republic). Notable completed projects include Dong Nai 4 hydropower project (Dak Nong province), Trung Son hydropower project (Thanh Hoa province), Thuong Kon Tum hydropower project (Kon Tum province), expanded Da Nhim hydropower plant (Lam Dong and Ninh Thuan provinces), Bac Ai storage hydropower project (Ninh Thuan province), Tan My irrigation system (Ninh Thuan province), Dong Mit reservoir project (Binh Dinh province), Nuoc Trong reservoir project (Quang Ngai province), and Song Bung 2, Song Bung 4A and Song Bung 5 hydropower projects (Quang Nam province).
In addition, the Company has expanded its business scopes to restaurant, hotel, travel and tourism. The Company wholly owns 4-star Hai Au Hotel, 3-star Hai Au Bien Cuong Hotel in the coastal city of Quy Nhon, Dinh Binh guesthouse and restaurant service area, Dinh Binh ecotourism area in Vinh Thanh district, Binh Dinh province. Other business fields comprise overhauling construction machines, manufacturing mechanical engineering products, manufacturing fresh concrete and precast concrete structures (wholly owning Phuoc An Enterprise with a land area of 48,743 square meters in Phuoc An Industrial Complex, Tuy Phuoc district); training and exporting manpower (wholly owning a 8,775-square meter training center in Quy Nhon City); electricity production (67.7% interests in Van Phong Hydropower Joint Stock Company based Binh Dinh province); and testing mechanical strength of structural concrete, exploiting and transporting construction materials. These business activities have also contributed significantly to the company’s revenue.
