Kien Giang is set to develop the urban infrastructure system in a synchronous, modern and sustainable direction. Always advocating this goal, with high-class projects, and bringing different values to the community, Kien Giang Construction and Investment Consulting Joint Stock Company (CIC Group) has increasingly created a strong position in the Kien Giang real estate market, while consolidating its strategy of becoming a strong multi-industry corporation.
Ms. Pham Thi Nhu Phuong, General Director of CIC Group, had an interview with a Vietnam Business Forum reporter in this regard.
Could you please highlight the 30-year journey of CIC Group?
CIC Group, formerly known as the Design Survey Company, was established on October 29, 1992 (expanded into construction and real estate business since 2004). It had an initial charter capital of only VND118 million, after transforming the business model according to the equitization policy of the Government in March 2006, CIC Group had a charter capital of VND45 billion. It now has increased the capital to nearly VND1,000 billion, with 10 member companies, employing over 3,000 employees, contributing nearly VND100 billion to the budget each year.
Our projects are involved in many different segments, which have been well received by customers since their launch. We have cooperated with large domestic and foreign units towards professionalism in technology, management, marketing and project operation. In addition to real estate investment, we have also expanded into other fields such as construction investment consulting, financial investment, trade in services and education.
Notably, on March 25, 2020, the Group listed 50 million shares on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, and on October 29. 2022 we will celebrate our 30th anniversary, marking an important turning point, affirming the prestige and brand of CIC Group.
What has been contributing to your success?
Throughout 30 years of growth, we have always operated with the motto "Quality-efficiency-aesthetics-discipline". This is considered a guideline for sustainable development in order to bring the best products and services to customers, ensuring the interests of shareholders and employees.
Not only focusing on business development, we are also a pioneer in social security activities. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we contributed billions of dong to the local anti-pandemic effort, along with other activities such as giving gifts to poor students. We also participate in the campaign "Border and island gratitude"; “Green Sunday”; and voluntary blood donation.
After three decades of development, we have affirmed our leading position as a large corporation with many contributions to the development of the province. We have been conferred noble titles such as Labor Hero in the renovation period, and Labor Medals of First, Second, and Third Class. Especially for three consecutive years (2016, 2017, 2018), CIC Group was voted by the Provincial People's Committee as the leading unit of emulation and was awarded the Government's excellent Emulation Flag.
Rach Gia City is aimed to become a grade 1 city by 2025. To advocate this goal, which important projects will you implement? What makes your projects or products outstanding?
We have invested in many key projects, helping change the face of the city. Those projects include the new urban area encroaching on the Northwest Sea, An Binh residential area, Nam An Hoa residential area, Farmer's market residential area; Residential Line 2, North Vinh Quang Residential Area, Rach Soi Trade Center, and CIC Mart Supermarket.
Especially, with the investment in building Mekong Xanh International School (including preschool and primary school), we have cooperated with the education consulting unit FAROS Education & Consulting to organize the school under the model of “constructivist learning”. This is the first school of its kind in Kien Giang and in the Mekong Delta region to promote students' abilities according to international standards.
In addition to the quality and aesthetic factors, the human factor and values are always appreciated by CIC Group in order to make a difference for each project, bringing products that truly "enhance life".
As a major investor, how do you evaluate the local investment and business environment?
Kien Giang in general and Rach Gia City in particular is located in a dynamic development area, one of the key urban areas of the Mekong Delta, the center of the triangle of economic development of Rach Gia-Ha Tien-Phu Quoc which has a lot of potential for breakthroughs.
Exploiting these potential strengths, over the past time, Kien Giang has promoted the construction of a synchronous and highly connected infrastructure system. There are many policies to create a favorable environment for investors, especially with urban development projects, exploiting tourist landscapes, and promoting the advantages of rivers and sea.
As one of the investors in the province, CIC Group has always received great attention and support from the local government which have been creating a great motivation for CIC Group in particular and other enterprises in general.
Can you share some of your plans?
We are committed to always accompanying the province to create and elevate the city toward sustainable development. The Group will continue to inherit the achievements made during the past 30 years and have appropriate development orientations for each period.
