Training many key professions
Established in 2008, Ca Mau Community College is one of three public colleges in Ca Mau province that provides multi-level and multi-disciplinary education and training with many programs to meet the diverse learning needs of the community and local economic and social development needs.
Currently, the college provides training at three levels: college, intermediate and elementary professions, with major subjects including information technology, aquaculture, animal husbandry, teacher training, IT training and English. In addition, the college has fostered coordination and cooperation in undergraduate and postgraduate training and short-term training in related fields.
One of its advantages is that the infrastructure, technology and equipment for teaching and learning are modern, and teachers are highly qualified. The school has five departments, four faculties and one center with 99 employees. Its facilities and campus are ample, green, clean and beautiful.
In 2022, Ca Mau Community College was assigned to train 292 full-time college students, 110 full-time intermediate students; 330 on-the-job students; and 100 postgraduate students.
To accomplish this goal, the college has focused on improving the quality and efficiency of enrollment and training. It has continued to complete and implement the enrollment reform roadmap for 2021-2025 and broadened its communications to the community. Besides, the school has enhanced innovation, combining different forms of career counseling such as on-site counseling and online counseling, face-to-face counseling at high schools and job days.
In particular, the college keeps close track of labor market needs every year. It reviews and grasps enterprises' employment needs, and development goals in both short and long terms to work out training and development goals for new, key and practical occupations; and gradually increases training orders from enterprises.
Vice Rector Do Thi Vien Huong said, Ca Mau province is strong at manufacturing and its demand for highly skilled human resources is very large as a result. For well-enrolled professions, Ca Mau Community College will continue to maintain and improve training programs, quality, competencies and skills that enterprises need for their future employees.
Furthermore, for difficult to enroll professions, the college will invest in, perhaps, before that, join training cooperation to have opportunities for lecturers to acquire their teaching experiences and professional expertise.

Creating employment for graduates
Not only improving training quality, Ca Mau Community College also advances educational socialization, and works with local enterprises in student training and employment.
Accordingly, the college always sees enterprises as an important partner to improve training quality and reduce the gap between knowledge at school and working skills in the business for graduates. The school established the Center for Foreign Languages, Computer Science and Business Cooperation for business-led training. This is a channel to receive training orders from enterprises and boost communications to increase the interest of enterprises in State policies on vocational education for enterprises.
Currently, Ca Mau Community College has cooperative ties with more than 100 employers in Ca Mau, Bac Lieu and Kien Giang provinces; nearly 20 provincial agencies; and many kindergartens and primary schools. It signed many agreements and memorandums of understanding on cooperation in training, research and job creation.
Moreover, supporting students to have internships and career counseling is also one of its special concerns. It regularly organizes career days, attended by leading experts and large enterprises, where students are provided with useful information about the size, industries and recruitment needs; about conditions of employment contract signing; about base wages, bonuses and other social welfare.
As a result, the school has a high rate of employed graduates. Many students are trained in foreign languages for working in potential markets such as Japan and South Korea. Up to 80-90% of graduated students are employed. Specially, all aquaculture students are employed after graduating.
In the coming time, Ca Mau Community College will further consolidate and perfect its managerial apparatus, improve teachers' skills and create the best conditions and environment for talents to devote to vocational education.
Last but not least, Ca Mau Community College will expand its training scale, open new professions training programs and improve training quality, especially by fostering cooperation and signing contracts with enterprises to provide career opportunities for students.
In particular, it will actively seize opportunities, strengthen international cooperation, and gradually enhance training quality to become a top-quality school in the vocational education system of the Mekong Delta region in particular and the country as a whole.
