Woosam Singapore is seeking investment license from the southern Ben Tre province to build a luxurious resort in Ben Tre Town with total capital of US$30 million.

The project lying by Ham Luong River is expected to cover 200 hectares.

It will be home to an 18-hole golf course and a five-star 100-room hotel.

“We will kick off the construction as soon as we receive the license from the province,” an official of the company said, hoping that it will help the province as well as the region better serve the soaring demand of tourists.

Ben Tre currently has 29 tourist sites, 24 of which are located in Chau Thanh District, concentrating mostly in communes that sit along the bank of the Tien River.

According to experts, Ben Tre's tourism is ranked at the top of the Mekong Delta region in terms of eco-tourism. (Investment Aug 10 p4, Vietnam Panorama)
