Ben Tre to Host Third Coconut Festival in 2012

Deputy PM Hoang Trung Hai has allowed the Mekong Delta province of Ben Tre to hold the third Coconut Festival in 2012.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is responsible for working with the People’s Committee of Ben Tre to host the event.

The first and second Coconut Festivals successfully took place in Ben Tre in 2009 and 2010 respectively.

These events offered a good chance for Ben Tre and other coconut homelands to promote brand names and boost coconut cultivation and processing.

So far, Vietnamese coconuts are available in over 50 other countries and territories.

The third festival is scheduled on April 4-9, 2012.
