Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai recently approved the master plan for building the Cau Treo Border Gate Economic Zone in Ha Tinh province until 2025.
The Cau Treo Border Gate Economic Zone has a total area of 56,685 hectares. It will be divided into specialised zones like the 465-ha urban zone, the 407-ha residential areas scattered along the northern and southern banks of Ngan Pho River, the 506-ha industrial and farming zones, tourist sites, ecological parks, urban zones, green parks, public squares and sporting facilities covering about 92 ha, along with land for religious, national defence and security purposes.
Surrounded by Hong Son and Son Linh communes in Huong Son district and especially Bolikhamsai province of neighbouring Laos in the west, Cau Treo will be a general economic zone for industry, trade, service, tourism, residences, agriculture and forestry.
It will be an international trade gateway and an important traffic link on the East-West Economic Corridor. It is also an economic, cultural and tourism centre with modern and synchronous infrastructure for Ha Tinh province and the northern central region in general.
