The first Lai Chau Culture and Tourism Week 2016 is set to take place from April 29 to May 2, 2016 in Lai Chau City, Sin Suoi Ho village (Sin Suoi Ho Commune, Phong Tho District) and Sin Ho Plateau.
The event aims to promote the tourism potential of Lai Chau province and provide a stepping stone to connect with tours to Lao Cai and Dien Bien provinces to tap regional tourism strengths. This is an opportunity to highlight local cultural values, humanities and natural landscape to attract more tourists and investors to Lai Chau.
Many locally characteristic cultural events will be organised during the week, including road parades, reproduction of Tu Cai Festival hosted by the Dao people, Season Worship by the Giay people, Wedding Ceremony by Dao Khao people, and Betrothal Ritual by Mang people. The event will showcase gorgeous landscapes like Pusamcap Cave, San Thang village, Gia Khau village, Sin Suoi Ho field and Da O Mountain.
The gastronomic festival will be held in Sin Suoi Ho Village where visitors can taste local specialties. Visitors can also join photographing tours on Sin Ho Plateau, with camp fires and arts exchanges with locals.
This is also a good opportunity for travel agents to develop new tourism products, which will make Lai Chau province better known among holidaymakers.
