With the objective of transforming Go Cong town into a provincially administered city by 2025, as outlined in Resolution 12-NQ/TU of the Tien Giang Provincial Party Committee, the town has directed its efforts toward resource mobilization, prioritizing the enhancement and refinement of infrastructure, particularly in the realms of transport infrastructure and urban beautification.
Go Cong Town continues to prioritize substantial investments in infrastructure upgrades, notably urban embellishment aligning with the vision of achieving class III urban criteria and ultimately attaining the status of a provincially administered city
Mr. Pham Dang Khoa, Director of the Go Cong Town Project Management and Land Fund Development Board, said the Board was entrusted with an investment capital exceeding VND260 billion for 54 projects in 2023. This allocation comprises funds from both the provincial budget and the town's budget.
From the provincial capital, the Board successfully executed seven transitional projects initiated in 2022, including the completion of Huong Duong Kindergarten, Provincial Road 871, Provincial Road 862, Long Hoa Primary School, Long Chanh Commune Market, the renovation of Go Cong Town People's Committee headquarters, and the northern embankment of the Salicette Canal. All these projects have achieved a 100% completion rate within the stipulated timeframe and are now operational.
Furthermore, utilizing the province's capital, the Board has embarked on various new projects, such as Binh Xuan Market, Tan Trung Secondary School, Tan Trung Primary School, Long Chanh Primary School, Provincial Road 871C (section through Go Cong town), and Provincial Road 877 (section through Go Cong town).
To complement these initiatives, the Board has managed the town's capital, overseeing 47 project portfolios, including eight projects initiated in 2022 and 39 new project categories in 2023.
Aligned with the overarching objective of finalizing infrastructure construction and urban enhancement, the Board has also executed important projects, including the upgrade and renovation of Nguyen Hue Street, the renovation of Go Cong Town Party Committee headquarters, the Truong Dinh Street project, and phase 3 development of residential areas on both sides of the road. Additionally, the Board has undertaken the Provincial Road 873 project from Binh Xuan bridge to National Highway 50, and the project to construct a market road in Ward 4.
In the coming time the Board will continue advancing the implementation and accelerating the progress of construction projects, with a particular emphasis on the upgrade and renovation of urban roads and agency offices. This focus aims to perfect the town's infrastructure, enhance its urban aesthetics, and ensure that it is truly deserving of its future status as a provincially administered city.
The Go Cong Town Project Management and Land Fund Development Board has expanded its focus to include initiatives under the National Target Program for new rural development.
Director Pham Dang Khoa emphasized the Board's dedication to enhancing investment project management efficiency, with a specific emphasis on expediting construction progress within the region. Rigorous inspection and supervision mechanisms will be heightened to ensure adherence to planned timelines, striving for optimal capital disbursement rates and project effectiveness.
Beyond its role as an investor, the Board takes on the responsibilities of compensation and site clearance, facilitating the resettlement to expedite the handover of construction sites for key projects. Specific endeavors include compensation, site clearance, and resettlement support for the Binh Dong Industrial Park Project, along with ongoing efforts in traffic construction projects under the Board's purview.
To bolster the efficacy of site clearance and project management, the Board commits to a series of proactive measures. This includes adherence to the programs and plans outlined by the Town Party Committee and Town People's Committee. Regular updates on legal regulations governing capital construction investment, compensation, and site clearance will be integrated to successfully fulfill assigned tasks.
The Board recognizes the importance of collaboration with relevant departments and units, particularly within the localities where projects are unfolding. Propaganda efforts at project implementation sites, coupled with community mobilization for site handovers, will be key measures to expedite project commencement. Furthermore, the Board pledges to conduct transparent and public dissemination of guidelines and policies pertaining to compensation, support, and resettlement projects.
